  Instructions on Application for C Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Crew members performing duty on board an international train, aircraft, vessel, the accompanying family members of the vessel crew members, and vehicle drivers engaged in international transportation services, who enter China with C Visa and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1)Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2)A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3)A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Organization of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4)A valid“Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5)Letter of certification form competent departments under local people’s governments at or above the county level and from the respective transportation companies in civil aviation, railway, highway and port;

  (6)Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for F Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreignerswho enter China with F Visa and come to Yichang for the purposes of exchanges, visits, study tour or other relevant activities and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Letter of certification from host organization in Yichang; (Please mark the following details in the certifying letter, such as “Our organization is responsible for authenticity of the invitation, reception content and causes. Should there be any falsification, our organization is willing to undertake relevant legal liabilities.” If business partners engaging in business and trade activities are individuals, the letter should mark the following details: 1. Valid ID card number, registered household address and actual residence, and contact information of the individual partner. 2. The foreign name, sex, date of birth and type and certificate number of the international travel certificate of the foreigner cooperated with. 3. Scope of cooperation. 4. Time and causes of foreigners’ stay in China.);

  (6) Photocopies (to be checked against the original) of the registration certificate of the aforesaid organization (such as duplicate of valid business license, institution registration certificate, privately-operated non-enterprise institution registration certificate, foreign (regional) enterprise office registration certificate, performance management institution certificate, foreign press agency office certificate, registration certificate of institutions related to foreign affairs);

  (7)Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application forG VisaExtension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreigners entering China with the G visa need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Letter of certification from host organization in Yichang; (Please mark the following details in the certifying letter, such as “Our organization is responsible for authenticity of the invitation, reception content and causes. Should there be any falsification, our organization is willing to undertake relevant legal liabilities.” If business partners engaging in business and trade activities are individuals, the letter should mark the following details: 1. Valid ID card number, registered household address and actual residence, and contact information of the individual partner. 2.   (6) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for J2Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreign journalists who enter China with J-2 Visa for the purposes of short-term news coverage and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Official letter of certification issued by the foreign affairs office of the people’s government at the provincial level;

  (6) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for L Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreigners who come to China with the L visa need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Other certifying documents relevant to the application matters:

  1. For a holder of individual L Visa, the travel plans and itinerary shall be submitted. (The travel plans and itinerary can be written by the applicant.) If there is any host organization or individual, the host organization or individual can provide the travel plans and itinerary for the applicant. Meanwhile, according to Subclause 4 of Subparagraph 1 of Article 21 of the “Exist and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China”, the applicant shall provide the certificate of adequate expenses for his or her stay in China. It is calculated by 1,000 yuan per day, and the disposable fund certificate of the applicant from ten days ago to the present should be issued by the applicant.

  2. For a holder of group L Visa, the letter of certification from the host travel agency, for the purposes of applying for visa extension, shall be submitted;

  (6) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for M Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreigners who enter China with M Visa engaging in commercial activities in Yichang and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Credentials of commercial or trade partners and letter of certification for applying for extension:

  1. If a partner is an entity, photocopies (to be checked against the original) of the registration certificate of the aforesaid entity (such as duplicate of the valid business license, institution legal person registration certificate, privately-operated non-enterprise institution registration certificate, and foreign (regional) enterprise office registration certificate shall be submitted and the letter of certificate with a seal affixed by the aforesaid.

  2. If a partner is an individual, the inviter’s ID card, certificate of permanent household register in Yichang or certificate of residence in Yichang an invitation letter with the inviter’s signature shall be submitted. (The letter should contain the following information: 1. Valid ID card number, registered household address and actual residence, and contact information of the individual partner. 2. The foreign name, sex, date of birth and type and certificate number of the international travel certificate of the foreigner cooperated with. 3. Scope of cooperation. 4. Time and causes of foreigners’ stay in China. If there are illegal behaviors between the cooperation partners not yet handled, the application will not be handled. Signature of the individual business partner shall be confirmed by the handling window and the police to be authentic.);

  (6) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application forQ2 VisaExtension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreign relatives of Chinese citizens residing in China or foreign relatives of foreigners with permanent residence status in China, who enter China with Q2 Visa for a short-term visit and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Proof of family relationship (Family members including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, siblings, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandchildren, maternal grandchildren and children’s spouses);

  (6) Letters provided by relatives in Yichang; (Include the following details in the certifying document: 1. Valid ID card number, registered household address and actual residence, and contact information of the individual partner. 2. The foreign name, sex, date of birth and type and certificate number of the international travel certificate of the foreigner cooperated with. 3. Time and causes of foreigners’ stay in China.)

  (7) Photocopies ( to be checked against the original) of the following identification of relatives in Yichang shall be submitted: for residents with registered residence in Yichang, they should provide the household register booklet and the ID card; for residents with registered residence not in Yichang they should provide the ID card and the residence permit in Yichang; for Hong Kong and Macao residences, they should provide the “ Pass for Travelling to and from Mainland China” and “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors” in Yichang; for Taiwan residences, they should provide Taiwan Fellowship Certificate” and “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors” in Yichang; for overseas Chinese, they should provide Chinese passport, permanent residence certificate abroad and “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors” in Yichang; for foreigner holding the permanent residence permits in China, they should provide the “Permanent Residence Certificate for Foreigners”. (in case of non-local application, he or she should also provide the “Lodgment Registration Form for Foreigner” to certify his or her living in Yichang for more than half a year.)

  (8) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for R Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreign of high talent who are needed, or specialists who are urgently needed by the State, when they enter China with R Visa and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Letters of certification provided by host organization in Yichang; (Please mark the following details in the certifying letters, such as “Our organization is responsible for authenticity of the invitation, reception content and causes. Should there be any falsification, our organization is willing to undertake relevant legal liabilities.”)

  (6) Photocopies (to be checked with the original) of the registration certificate of the aforesaid organization (such as the duplicate of business license, institution legal person registration certificate, and registration certificate of the institution related to foreign affairs)

  (7) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for S2 Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreign family members of foreigners staying or residing in China for work or study or other purposes who apply for a short-term visit in Chin, or persons who need to stay in China for other personal matters, when they enter China with S2 Visa and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Other documents relating to the application matters:

  1. For visitors of foreigners, proof of family relationship (family members including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, siblings, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandchildren, maternal grandchildren and children’s spouses), photocopies (to be checked against the original) of the passports, visas or stay or residence permits of the person to be visited, and letters by the aforesaid person shall be submitted.

  2. For personswho receive medical help or service in Yichang, certificates of hospitalization or certificates of receiving medical service provided by medical institutions at or above the county level or the 2A level shall be submitted. For non-public medical institutions, registration certificates of the aforesaid institutions shall also be provided;

  3. For persons who deal with other personal affairs, relevant supporting documents shall be submitted;

  (6) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.

  Instructions on Application for X2 Visa Extension

  I. Applicant Eligibility

  Foreigners who enter China with X2 Visa for a short-term study and need to stay longer than the duration of the stay specified in the visa, shall apply for extension seven days prior to the expiry of the said duration.

  II. Application Documents

  When applying for visa extension, the applicant is obliged to answer relevant inquires and submit the following documents:

  (1) Original and photocopies of the applicant’s valid passport;

  (2) A completed “Visa Application Form for Foreigners”;

  (3) A visa photo, which has met the requirement of the Entry/Exit Administration Department of Public Security of Hubei Province, and a receipt of China Visa Photograph for foreigners in Hubei Province;

  (4) A valid “Registration Form of Temporary Residence for visitors” in Yichang;

  (5) Letter of certification indicating the duration of study provided by educational or training institution in Yichang;

  (6) Photocopies (to be checked against the original) of the registration certificate of the aforesaid institutions (including the business license, institution legal person registration certificate and registration certificate of the institution related to foreign affairs);

  (7) Other certifying documents required by public security organs.
