The Hubei Free Trade Experimental Area covers a total planning area of 119.96 square kilometers, including 70 square kilometers in Wuhan Area, 27.97 square kilometers in Yichang Area and 21.99 square kilometers in Xiangyang Area. The strategic positioning is to orderly undertake the demonstration area of industrial transfer, the clusters of strategic emerging industry and high-tech industry,and the comprehensive reform and opening up of experiment plots in the central region,and open new highlands inland to the outside.

Overall Situation of Yichang Area

　　The planned land area of free trade zone in Yichang is 27.97 square kilometers, of which the Dongshan Park and Bio-Industrial Park of Yichang High-Tech Zone covers an area of 16.61 square kilometers, Xiling District covers an area of 1.81 square kilometers, Wujiagang District covers an area of 9.54 square kilometers and Yiling area covers an area of 0.01 square kilometers. According to the function, Yichang area is divided into customs special supervised area and non-customs special supervised area.

　　The customs special supervised areas(the 1.8-2 square kilometers of  Yichang comprehensive bonded zone) focuses on exploring the institutional innovation based on the main content of trade facilitation, mainly carrying out the business of bonded processing, bonded logistics, bonded service and so on; the non-customs special supervised area (26.17 square kilometers) focuses on exploring the reform of the investment system, perfecting the supervision in process and afterwards, promoting the innovation of the financial system, and actively developing the modern service industry and high-end manufacturing industry.According to the overall plan of Hubei Province, Yichang area focuses on the development oft he high-tech industry, including advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, electronic information, new materials, etc.,and the high-end manufacturing industry,including research and development, headquarters economy, electronic commerce, etc. After 3 to 5 years of reform and exploration, Yichang strives to build the important strategic pivot in the central region toorderly undertake high-tech industry cluster area, modern service industry cooperation demonstration area of the Three Gorges Region and Yangtze River economic belt for docking the “The Belt and Road Initiative”.
