The commencement ceremony of the first phase of the smart comprehensive energy project in the Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone was held on August 16. This project is the first large-scale smart comprehensive energy project in the province and also a pilot one of the cooperation between Three Gorges Group and the Yichang Municipal Government in the field of “urban comprehensive energy management”.
In the project with a total investment of 100 million yuan, the roofs of the factory buildings in the zone are utilized to develop a smart comprehensive energy system with distributed photovoltaic as the core and electrochemical energy storage and charging piles as supporting facilities. The project has a construction capacity of 18.45MWp of photovoltaic power, 3MW/6MWh of energy storage, and 821kW of charging piles. It will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase planned to be connected to the grid for power generation in November.
The project adopts the consumption mode of “self-generation for self use and the surplus for the grid” to construct a photovoltaic power generation system. Photovoltaic modules will be built on the roofs of 10 warehouses in the bonded zone, and a prefabricated modular switch station and a lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage system will be built outside the switching station. After completion, the annual power generation will be approximately 15.177 million kilowatthours, which can fully cover the electricity demand within the zone. Compared with thermal power plants with the same power generation capacity, the project can save approximately 6131.51 tons of standard coal per year, and reduce carbon dust emissions by 4128.14 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 15131.47 tons.
