Because I have benefited a lot from English Village when I was a freshman, I decided to take charge of it when I became a sophomore. Being in charge of English village requires me to invite more foreigners to take part in our activity. By the introduction of Pamala, I made acquaintance with Mrs. Jones. She is also a  Puerto rican who used to run a babysitting company when she was in her country. Knowing that English village is a platform where students can improve oral English, she volunteered to join me in organizing activities. We often meet at a coffee shop and talk something about some the forms of activities. I do think she is a good activity organizer because she often comes up with many wonderful ideas. For example, she suggested that we can hold activity like TED ,which enables students to express their ideas in English .It turns out to be a wonderful practice and a lot of English lovers thought highly of it. In a word, her participation makes a difference to our progress.

　　We all know that Christmas is of great meaning to foreigner. Before the Christmas Eve, she told me that she wanted to hold a Christmas party at the coffee shop and hoped that I could help her to be a translator and negotiate with the owner of the shop, She helping me a lot ,i promise to help her. We met at coffee shop and I translated what she said into Chinese and translate what the owner said into English. After hours of talking, we came to agreement that the shop provided us some amount of free cookies and juice. In return, we invited as many customers as possible for the shop on Christmas day. It turned out to be a wonderful party and she was so grateful to me that she send me a little Christmas gifts. Of course I was very happy about it.

　　Every time I was in confusion and trouble , I would invite her to the coffee shop and told her about my worries .She shared her experience of starting her own business and grasping chance to go to china .She took herself as example to tell me that nothing is impossible.

　　Because they helped me a great deal ,i made great progress in oral English; because they are my friends, my university become colorful. Now, I can really understand the true meaning of the sentence: Become friends with people who are not your age ;hang out with people whose first language is not as same as yours. This is how you see the world and how you grow.
