My Yichang story
2015-11-12 08:43:27

  Greg,

Hey, buddy! Ca va? How about your family? I miss you all, your parents and your sister. And of course the cheerful and unforgettable time with you.

We met on a party while playing bowling the first time. For me, you really seem like a brother. You took a lot care of me. That’s my first time to go abroad and I know nothing about european life. In my expression, I can even say that you are perfect. You always stay calm and think twice before doing. I have never seen you lose the temper or be in a hurry. I found that the way you talk with ur family, your parents, is always respectful and with a smooth tone. Moreover, I believe that your studio is the tidiest one of my male friends that I have ever visited. I have found a lot of details of ur life which I really appreciate them. Seen a lot of ur family,I can even predict that ur a gentleman ,a nice husband, and a caring father.

How lucky that I can meet u! We have spent almost two weeks to repair my bike which I bought in Braderie. I know nothing about repairing bikes, Because I told u that in China, there are some who do it professionally. So u teach me step by step with patience and a warm heart. That’s maybe the reason why plenty of chinese girls love boys who study engineering courses.

You remember that one day I just mantioned that I have seen a nice coat but cheap on street. I asked you if there is a shopping center like that in Lille so that maybe I can go there by myself. But actually you are not sure that if the place you thought is exactly I wanted. So you directly drive me there and accompany me to go shopping. Hou can you be that nice! Sometimes I think that you are not only a mate but a family member that I can rely on.

However, honestly I was concerned about the difference between two cultures that if some words violated you unintentionally. But you were always in politness. We talked a lot about the difference of the way of life between France and China or even about politics. We just communicated and listened to each other and change the opinion friendly with a learning heart. That was comfotable and I didn’t need to worry about it at all. I consider that regardless of the gap between two cultures, that is a point showing that we are suited to be good friends.

You are the guy who is always serious to the study. Do you remember that there was a lesson of project one day. We are in a same group. The professor demanded that we should find out a plan to make two candles to be used by one. Moreover we had only 5 minutes. So you 3 french students started to discuss in so fluent French that I cannot follow. Then I was left there. At that time I feel so sorry for my French. But that’s you who always devote yourself to a task.

Yes that means that you have ambition to do your best while working. I can find something deeply like shining points from you, especially the ways of thought.

I love the scenes of Europe. You introduce the history of the ancient Lille for me. That was a great feeling to be surrounded by the fantastic historical architectures. You drived me with your family to Belgique to take a tour of Gent, a beautiful city. I love the way how people live there, They really enjoy life.

Another amazing trip is to Mons. If I haven’t met u, I wouldn’t have chance to go there. You told me it was the festival for European Union once a year in a city. And Lille held it in 2004.That was great. The carnival. Those styles were so creative that I even could not imagine in China. That’s Europe and the European culture and life.

You drived me to play basketball with your friends. I repeated thousand times that how strong and powerful you are while playing. Then the last night before I leaved France, you came to my home and brought me several amazing surprises. Firstly a France flag. I have been overjoyed. But then a uniform of  Kobe Bryant, made in France. I screamed and couldn’t express how excited I was at that time with my broken English.

I can be sure that, as a young man or a boy who go abroad the first time, this memory would be stuck in my whole life. It was wonderful and unforgettable.

You said one day you’d like to take a trip around the world of course including China. I really hope that it can come true during my university life in Yichang. So that we can travel to magnificent sight spot, like Three Gorges and Gallery of Qingjiang. Then I can certainly be your guide. It’s a beautiful city for travelling and the life here is so comfortable like in Lille. Now I’m preparing for the master in France. I love that country. It’s you who made me love that country. I hope that one day when I return to France, I would have a chance to visit you and your lovely family. I even have imagined that years later, when we are getting old, our kids will still have chance to get acquanted with each other and have fun together. Their dads will tell them about their friendship. That is between two countries and two youths. Thank you, a sincere friend.
