The city of landscape—— Yi Chang
2017-10-27 16:19:16

The beauty of Yi Chang mesmerizes me for its profound culture and magnificent scenery. I firmly believe that between the mountains and waters, Yi Chang, is the most ecological city for the best residential comfort, a paradise of romance and green life in your dreams.

The profound culture of Yi Chang heads from a deep historical heritage. Generally speaking, Yi Chang is not only the birthplace of both agricultural civilization and Chinese poetry, but a kingdom of creatures.

Xiao Feng, a famous scenic spot, has many fantastic wonders. In April 5, 2007, a thesis by the experts of both Chinese and American was published in the British journal of Natures, which has mentioned that a kind of the most primitive fossil was spotted in the river valley of Xiao Feng. This discovery was so significant, according to which, the time of origin of animals was able to be affirmed. Of course, among these beautiful wonders, Three Gorges grand waterfalls is the essence, which seems like a huge white silk hung above the mountains while waterfalls is cascading down. In the river valley where ancient animals inhabited nowadays are vibrant new lives.

Back River, a primeval forest, is one of the most previous land in the world. 130 million years ago, when the earth ushered in the Quaternary Ice Age, a great deal living creatures came into extinction. However, what astonished the world was that only in Back River did the community of the paleovegetation survive. No one could explain why only the plants there managed to go through the long Ice Age safe and sound. Within 100 sq km in Back River, the species of wild vascular plants which had remained from ancient time was as many as 2,000, which should approach to the sum of that in the whole Europe. It is generally acknowledged that Back River is the most mysterious kingdom of life in the field of paleontology.

Lotus Town in Yuan An, a rustic town, reserves the trace of agricultural civilization. It was said that Yellow Emperor, Xuanyuan, founder of the Chinese nation, got acquainted with Lei Zu in Xiling, who became his wife later. It was Lei Zu who taught people to plant mulberry trees and breeding silkworms, as a consequence of which, agricultural technology was improved greatly during this period, and therewith, the etiquette system came into being. In order to memory Lei Zu, villagers in Lotus Town will hold a devout ceremony on March 15 every year.

Che Xi, a valley covered by many waterwheels, is a conservation area for old agricultural civilization in Xiajiang. Here exist the first museum of waterwheel, the first museum of agriculture and the largest old workshop in China. For all plants and animals, this is a place which will contribute to their growth; for human beings, this is a place which can help you to unwind. Coming here, you are bound to be astounded by this dynamic farming picture.

Lepingli in Zi Gui, a basin surrounded by mountains, is the hometown of Qu Yuan, the first Chinese poet. Local legend has it that Qu Yuan was ever enchanted by the scene of a secluded valley near from his hometown and wrote down a poem to admire the distinctive scenery there. The valley was called “ Jiuwanxi” later. “Jiuwan” was picked out from his poem, representing his lofty and unyielding character. Both in Zi Gui, came Wang Zhaojun, one of the four beauties in ancient China. What a poignant picture it is when autumn stream ruffled by the west wind, a wild geese sweeping over the sky, the setting sun merges with the background of mountains. Only when you came here can you have a glimpse of the pleasant scenery.

Over the withered vine and old tree fly crows at dusk; across the small bridge and running stream lie cottages in quiet. Yi Chang is a picturesque city on the earth, a human fairyland with best living environment and an elysium instinct with sunshine of harmony. Such a casual but far-reaching poetry about Yi Chang by the great poet Li Bai has brought us into a glorious sight: “where mountains lull into level fields unfolding, the river finds grandeur through the boundless country”.
