Do you know where my hometown is?My hometown is not Beijing or Shanghai but Yichang , the city called “The World’s hydroelectric power”, where there lies the world-famous Three Gorges Dam. Even though Yichang is not prosperous as Beijing or Shanghai, it does provide unique and irreproducible life experience for me. Yichang, the city with the exquisite environment and the pleasant climate, has attracted many foreign students, for which Ihave the chance to make friends with them when studying at the Three Gorges University.

　　Especially, Imade an acquaintance with a foreign student from Nepal when volunteering at the peach blossom festival, whose name is Raase Joseph. Every time he gets in trouble such as sending a delivery or go shopping at CBD, he will come to me for help. And he always told me that Yichang is a fabulous city in his eyes, where he met with many nice friends, who are warmhearted and willing to offer help. In addition, there exists convenient bus system and comfortable living environment.

　　If my memory serves me well, he visited “People scenic Three Gorges”accompanied by me. He was astonished at the alluring scenery spots: the rolling mountains, the crystal clear water in Yangtze River, the boisterous wedding performance. He said that it is a travelling experience he shall never forget.

　　Raase makes friends with many Chinese students. Every weekend, he will invite us to his apartment and treat us with a feast of fried chickens ,vegetables and fruits. What’s more, I teach him how to cook the speciality in Yichang such as radish dumplings and youcui. Furthermore ,after dinner, he will show us the movies with thecinematograph and chat with us about the interesting things that happened to him.

　　All in all, Iam really grateful for the fact that I am born in Yichang and studying in the university of Yichang, the Three Gorges University.I love the beautiful scenery spots, the delicious speciality , the nice people in Yichang. It’sYichang that endows me with unique life experience, the opportunity to make friends with foreigners. If Ihave another chance to choose the hometown myself, Iwould rather choose Yichang again than any other places.(Yueyue Liu)
