Yichang integrates the grand mountains and the great rivers, countless historic sites and modern projects, natural sceneries and humanity sights. There have 2 national “5A” tour sites, 9 national “4A” class ones and 14 national “3A” class ones, making up kinds of tour lines such as 7 new tour lines for Three Gorges, touring around Yichang, and one day in Yichang etc. After the completion of the Three Gorges Project, the dam will raise the water in the upper stream forming a great lake, which will bring us many more new tour sites. The mixture of the natural Yangtze Three Gorges and the manmade Three Gorges Project will make Yichang much more attractive. Assorting with the band, the ancient Chinese celebrities such as the Poet Quyuan, the ancient Beauty Wang Zhaojun, the Saint General Guanyu and the Scholar Yang Shoujin; the folk culture as the Ba People and the Tujia Minorities; some historical sites such as ancient battle fields of Three Kingdoms and the Sanyou Cave; together with the national forest gardens such as the Shennongjia Mountains, the Dalaoling Mountains, and the Chaibuxi will enhance the tourism image of Yichang as “Golden Three Gorges, Silvery Dam, and Green Yichang”.
