Lianzi Cliff is located at the south bank of the Xiling Gorge, soaring between the Bingshu Baojian Gorge and the Niugan Mafei Gorge. It used to be called “Suozhu Mountain” or "Suo Mountain".

　　 Lying in the new beach, the ancient landslide mass is the key of Lianzi Cliff’s mysterious glamour. The fissures on Lianzi Cliff were shaped by the interaction of geological processes and human activities. According to historic records, 21 huge landslides have happened here since the first 12 years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, causing two cutoffs (in 1921 and 1982) of the Yangtze River. Therefore, about 2.5 million fragmentized rocks are all around the Lianzi Cliff. Numerous cracks criss-crossing can be seen from the bottom of Lianzi Cliff with the largest crack?of about 6m to 7m in width, 100m in depth.
