Situated at Gaolan Township, Xingshan County, Chaotianhou Rafting Scenic Spot is an important juncture of “One River and two mountains” (the Yangtze River, Shennongjia and Wudang Mountains) golden travel channel, which is 100 kilometers away from Yichang’s urban area. With rafting as its main project, it is a comprehensive large-scale scenic spot integrating special tourism, cultural tourism with natural sightseeing into a whole. In 2012, it was ratified as "China Youth Mountaineering Training Base” by Chinese Mountaineering Association. Under the jurisdiction of the Xiayang River and the Peacock River, Chaotianhou Rafting starts its journey from both ends of the East and the North and meets at the Sky Roar where the two rivers converge. Located at "Ten-mile Decorated Corridor” outside Gaolan Natural Scenic Spot, Xiayang River is six kilometers in length with the fall of 148 meters via a series of landscapes such as Wofo Mountain, Badunjin, JIangjunzhu and Hongshansun, etc. The Peacock River is situated at "Ten-mile Decorated Corridor” of Gaolan with 4.5 kilometers in length and 78 meters in fall. It passes through such landscapes as Jiang Tai Weng, Peacock Ridge, Camel Peak, Zhaojun Stone, etc.
