Being 34 kilometers away from Yichang City, Danshui Rafting Scenic Spot is located in Gaojiayan Town, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, where No.318 National Highway and No. 323 Provincial Highway intersect. Danshui River originated in Diemapo, Hejiaping Town, where Wu Gong led troops to the southwest in the Three Kingdoms Period. With a total length of 71 kilometers, it is the largest tributary of Qingjiang River. Danshui Rafting is the first water rafting project in China. It began operations in 1995 and was closed in 2003 in order to support a national key project. It was reopened to the public in 2011. The length of rafting river is 15 kilometers. With lucid water, the rafting river is winding and beautiful with cliffs, gorges and dense forests. There are some sites of Three Kingdoms Period, such as Bingying Stream, Moma Stream, Dianbing River, the landscapes of bonsai and flowers, and Ordovician geological wonders.
