Xisaiguo Tourist Resort(3A-class)

  Being 100 kilometers away from Yichang City, Xisaiguo National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It belongs to the branch of Mount Jing in Ta-pa Mountains and is the cradle of the West Tributary of Huangbai River in Yangtze River Valley. The scenic spot is famous for the Rhododendron lapponicum and a large area of rare southern alpine meadow. It is an alpine wetland-type natural forest park integrating tourism adventure, forest therapy, alpine skiing, summer recreation, sightseeing and entertainment. It was established in 2001 by Hubei Forestry Bureau, with a total planned area of 146 square kilometers. Its forest storage is nearly 900,000 cubic meters and the forest coverage rate exceeds 80%. The forest park has a maximum altitude of 1,970 meters and an average altitude of 1,382 meters. It has 185 families, 763 genera and 1,564 species of plants, and more than 16 orders, 41 families and 80 species of wild animals. There are more than 70 species of national first-class protected tree species, such as the Chinese Dove Tree, Metasequoia, Second-Class Tapiscia Sinensis, Ginkgo, Cyclocarya Paliurus, Liriodendron Chinese and Lotus Trees. There are also more than 100 rare plants and precious Chinese herbs. There are more than 20 species of endangered animals, such as Giant Salamander, Paguma Larvata, Red Ventral Horn etc. The park consists of four scenic spots: Jiuzhai Bay, Quanyitang, Wangjiang Mountain, and Heiliang Mountain. The cultural landscape includes the Stone City, Yuntaiguan, Zangbing Cave, Lijiazhai and other historical sites. The natural landscapes include of Thin Strip of Sky, Hundred Snake Rock, Dragon King Cave, and Sword Peak, etc., and there are simple and vulgar cultural resources such as Shadow Play, Brass Section and Field Flower-Drum.
