Yang Shoujing

Yang Shoujing, born in Yidu, was a famous l geographer, edition bibliognost, bibliophile, epigrapher and calligrapher in modern Chinese history.

Yang Shoujing, was sent to Japan officially as an ambassador in 1880. He has written 80 volumes of works in his life. He has been indulged into the study of history and geography since he was 20 and later he finished Commentary on the Waterways as one his masterpiece, which was compiled in 4o volumes containing more than 2 million Chinese characters and covering history, geography, studies on water conservancy, agriculture, archaeology, literature, folklores etc based on his studies of more than 3,000 major or minor rivers in China. All his works have later been compiled into The Anthology of Yang Shoujing with 13 books in total of more than 17 million Chinese characters.
