Yichang Tang Diao is the most amazing part of western Hubei Tang Diao, including “Cai Diao (Dish Tune)”, “Cha Diao (Tea Tune)”and  “Da Diao (Big Tune)”. As the most of them are played by performers sitting in the hall, they are also known as “Tang Gu (Hall Drum)”, “Zuo Tang Diao (Sitting in the hall playing tunes)”and “Zuo Tang Chui Da (Sitting in the hall blowing and beating)”. It is widely handed down in Yichang. The Tujia Tang Diao in Changyang county and Wufeng County and Yanglin Tang Gu in Zigui are most representative, so as the Cai Diao in Yiling District. Widely used at weddings and funerals, festivals and other folk activities, it has more than 1000 pieces in existence now.
