Zhijiang folk percussion music is a kind of music and art form that is played by a combination of percussion instruments and folk wind instruments, such as suona, etc. Percussion instruments include drums, clappers, gongs, cymbals, small gongs and etc.
Zhijiang folk percussion music is mainly used for weddings and funerals, as well as various celebration ceremonies, labor custom, and other seasonal celebration activities. In 2000, Zhijiang City was named by the National Ministry of Culture as “the hometown of Chinese folk art (percussion music)”.
