At the invitation of Yichang Foreign Affairs Office, 15 citrus experts of Sanriding Agricultural Association, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan visited Yiling and Yidu citrus producing areas in Yichang from August 26 to 29, 2011.

Shizuoka Prefecture is a large citrus-producing area in Japan. It has advanced citrus cultivation skills and the orange production ranks 3rd in Japan. Sanriding in Shizuoka Prefecture is a famous quality citrus-producing area in Japan and is also training base of the citrus industry of Yichang in Japan. The main citrus variety, "Qingdao" with high glucose sells well at home and abroad. Since 2000, Sanriding government has admitted some Yichang citrus researchers and offered warm reception to "One Village, One Product" citrus investigation and training delegation from Yichang. In addition, Sanriding government has sent some citrus experts to Yichang for many times in order to provide guidance on "quality citrus cultivation skills, operation mechanism of the citrus industry association and citrus branch integration". Those citrus experts have made great contributions to the development of the "One Village, One Product" in the citrus industry in Yichang.

The Japanese citrus experts of Sanriding Agricultural Association visited the standard citrus base of Jinyinggang citrus demonstration farm in Yiling district, the citrus processing workshop of Yichang Xiaoxihong Industry Company, the citrus exposition garden of Hubei Tulaohan Ecological Agriculture Group and Mawangshan Quality Tangerine Base, and offered technical suggestions. Those experts also exchanged technical experience with local technicians about citrus variety breeding, high quality planting and further processing, moreover, they negotiated with Yichang government about launching Sino-Japanese citrus projects cooperation. Those Japanese citrus experts also visited The Three Gorges Dam.

On the evening of August 28, Mr. Wang Guobin, Deputy Mayor of Yichang City, met with and invited the citrus experts of Sanriding Agricultural Association to dinner at Taohualing Hotel.
