At the invitation of Sino-German Friendship Committee of NPC, a delegation of ten members- Sino-German Parliament Members Committee of Bundestag headed by Mr. Johannes Pflug, President of this organization, visited Yichang from July 4 to July 6. They were accompanied by government officials such as You Wenze, Vice-director of International Exchange & Communication Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of NPC. According to schedule, the delegation will visit Three Gorges Water Control Project, China Three Gorges University (CTGU), and learn about the achievement of Yichang in economy，social development and experience in new energy technology.

　　And Zhang Jianyi, Executive Deputy Director of Yichang Municipal People’s Congress, met with them at Taohualing Hotel on the evening of July 4. Other government officials in Yichang, for example, Liu Zhenhua, Director of Yichang Foreign Affairs Office, and Wang Hongqiang, Deputy-director of Yichang Municipal People\'s Congress, also took part in the meeting. Mr. Zhang expressed his hope that Yichang Government and German Government could enhance cooperation and deepen friendship through this visit, after giving a detailed introduction to guests about Yichang\'s economic development situation, location advantage, the drastic change and enormous economic benefits Yichang has experienced in recent years owing to the Three Gorges Water Control Project, and the condition of Yichang\'s competitive industries like tourism and culture industry. Mr. Johannes Pflug said the clean city here and its beautiful scenery impressed him as well as his delegation, the relation between the accomplishments of Yichang and the Three Gorges Water Control Project as well kindling their intense interest. He promised that he would make an effort to keep further bilateral ties and strength cooperation with Yichang Government.

　　On the morning of July 5, the delegation made a visit to Gezhouba Water Control Project, Three Gorges Water Control Project and the Xiling Gorge of the Yangtze River. On the afternoon, they went to CTGU with the company of Mr. Liu and Huang Yingping, Vice-president of CTGU during which they had an in-depth discussion with college students, about academic matters such as geological disasters and landslide, etc. and then visited the Ministry of Education-affiliated Key Laboratory of Geological Disaster of Three Gorges Reservoir Region and the Research Station of National Field Scientific Observation of Landslide in Three Gorges Reservoir Region of Hubei Province as well as other scientific research institutions and labs.

　　On the morning of July 6, the delegation left Yichang for Chongqing to continue their visit.
