On September 29, Ma Xuming, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Yichang, met Anna Komonyi, Governor of Manica Province, Mozambique and people together with her in city proper.

Ma Xuming showed a warm welcome to them and introduced the development of economic society of Yicahng to the guests. According to him, Yichang, a pleasant and prosperous city, is the capital of hydropower in the world, the heart of China’s hydropower and the only National Model City in Hubei Province. Last year, the city realized regional gross product of 250.8 billion RMB, ranking only second to Wuhan, provincial capital of Hubei. At present, Yichang is speeding up the construction of the modern megacity.

Mr. Ma hoped that economic and cultural exchange could be further reinforced between provinces in future, especially for the interurban exchange. More exchange makes better cooperation. The Municipal Government will give full support to strategic cooperation between Hubei Daohuaxiang Group with Manica Province, promoting to realize mutual benefits and common development. Besides, he also introduced the development of Hubei Daohuaxiang Group to the guests.

Anna said that she cherished this chance to visit China, and was very happy to come to beautiful Yichang and inspect and negotiate cooperative project with Hubei Daohuaxiang Group. She also said that good communication channel should be actively constructed in the future to promote bilateral economic cooperation and cultural exchange.

It is learnt that the Republic of Mozambique, covering an area of 799,380 square kilometers, lies in the southeast of Africa and is very friendly to China. Besides, Gaza Province of Mozambique and Hubei Province are also friendly to each other. (Reporter Zheng Guanghua)
