Mayer Ma Xuming met with a delegation from Ludwigsburg, Germany on May 30th.
Ma extended his warm welcome to Haas, the head of Ludwigsburg, and his delegation. Ma said this year marked the 20th anniversary of Yichang-Ludwigsburg sister city relations and 26-year long friendship and cooperation. Currently, Yichang is making every effort to seize opportunities in the new-round opening and developing of the Yangtze River Economic Zone to build Yichang as a sub-center city in Hubei and a modern megacity. We hope both sides would strengthen more exchanges in high-tech industry, advanced manufacture and modern agriculture, facilitate project cooperation and promote common prosperity and progress.

Yichang is a beautiful riverside city in the China. I am very glad to come to Yichang again in this anniversary year. Over the past 20 years, we have kept exchanges and cooperation and maintained a deep friendship. I hope that friendship between Germany and China will last forever through our further exchanges and cooperation, said Haas.

Located in Stuttgart, the most developed area of Germany, Ludwigsburg features in four pillar industries — auto parts manufacturing, machine manufacturing, finance service and news media. Yichang-Ludwigsburg friendly exchanges began in 1989. And the two sides officially concluded the sister city relations in May 1995.
