According to Yichang Entry & Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the products from Yichang Jiayuan Foodstuffs Co., Ltd. have recently passed the on-site inspection of the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA), clearing customs into the US market.
FDA is internationally acknowledged to be one of the world’s biggest food and drug administrations, and its product inspection standard is extremely strict. Jiayuan is a food processing enterprise mainly manufacturing canned fruit and its products are mainly exported to European and American markets. If passing FDA’s inspection, the exported products to America will be less likely to be chosen for inspection when going through the port.
After realizing the challenges that the enterprise has encountered, Yichang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has organized a special working group, with several experts led by the director of the branch bureau. The group has led related people to carry out special investigation, decode every regulation and requirement of FDA, and then explain them in detail to the managers in the enterprise. At the same time, the Bureau has also helped the enterprise have made rectification and reform, which involves production management, system operation, laboratory tests, and resource control, with the aim to conduct a comprehensive inspection for the enterprise. Eventually it has made 20 rectification suggestions and organized experts in company with the enterprise’ managers to discuss and improve their rectification plans. (Correspondents: Deng Zhihong & Du Yu; reporter: Gao Wei)
