Tourism Cooperation Contracts Signed in South Korea

  During November 22 to 26, a delegation led by the vice mayor of Yichang, Zhou Zhengying, held a promotion conference of tourism products in Busan, South Korea. “The Three Gorges in Yichang is a fascinating destination for tourists. Our part will offer full support and recommendation to make more Korean tourists go sightseeing in Three Gorges and fall in love with Yichang.” put by Lin Jingzhu, the secretary general of South Korean Tourism Association on the promotion conference in Busan on November 24.

  In the five-day promotion conference, the “Fall in Love with Yichang” brand has gained fruitful results: Yichang Tourism Bureau has respectively reached cooperation intention on promotion strategy of tourism market with South Korean Tourism Association and Busan Tourism Organization; Three Gorges Dam Tourism Group, Three Gorges Waterfall Scenic Spot, Chaibuxi Scenic Spot and the Yichang branch of CITS(China International Travel Service) Group Corporation has respectively come to an agreement on tourists group forming with the head office of Mode Tour Group, Lotte travel group and Korea- China tourist group. Except for the non-stop flight between Yichang and Busan, three more direct flight routes to Yichang from Seoul, Daegu and Cheongju will be newly launched by Air Busan. Both sides made it clear that, with direct charter flights as an opportunity, no less than 20,000 south Korean tourists will go to the Three Gorges in Yichang for sightseeing next year.

  During the days in South Korea, under the leadership of Zhou Zhengying, symposiums were held respectively with Air Busan, South Korean Tourism Association, Busan Tourism Organization and the head office of Mode Tour Group, 4 conferences between government and enterprises were held, and 2 tourism promotion conferences in large scale were held in Busan and Seoul with nearly 300 travel companies and news media present. When in South Korea, Mayor Zhou would elaborate on the economic and social development of Yichang and its developing condition of the tourism resource and market.

  During the promotion conference, the local mainstream media in South Korea covered the grand occasion of the event at great length. On behalf of the South Korea’s tourism industry, the secretary general of South Korean Tourist Association, the proprietor of the Busan Toursim Organization and the principal of the Mode Tour Group suggested that further communication and cooperation and mutual understanding should be intensified to achieve a win-win future.
