South Korea Delegation Visits Yichang

  A 16-person delegation of Gyeongju Culture Institution from South Korea led by the president Kim Ki Tzuo, visited Yichang On November 25th and was received by vice mayor Zhang Junhui.

  Zhang, on behalf of Yichang Municipal Government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that Yichang and Gyeongju have signed a sister-city cooperation agreement in 201 and the two cities have conducted exchanges and cooperation in the such fields as education and culture over the past two years, and he expressed his hope that this visit can further promote the cooperation in the fields of culture and nonmaterial heritage and make contributions to the mutual development of the two cities.”

  President Kim said that this visit is fairly significant, and the delegates were deeply impressed by the beautiful landscapes and the prosperity of the city, and he hoped that Yichang and Gyeongju will enhance the exchange in the fields of culture and arts and deepen the friendship between the two cities.

  In the afternoon, the delegation came to the Fu Shouju, an apartment for the elderly in Wujia District, offered gifts such as TV sets and quilts and also performed wonderful Korean traditional entertainment programs. Then the delegation visited the building of the Yichang Song and Dance Troupe, where the artists, the literary and art workers from the two cities put on their performances for an exchange. And the Korean traditional instrument performances and the dancing and singing programs with Three Gorges features won the audience\'s warm applause.
