On September 5, President of the Republic of Guinea, Alpha Conde, paid a friendly visit to Hubei Province. Entrusted by Jiang Chaoliang, Secretary of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, met with Alpha Conde and his delegation in Yichang.

　　Wang conveyed the sincere greetings from Jiang Chaoliang, and welcomed the visit of Alpha Conde and his delegation to Hubei. At the opening ceremony of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), President Xi Jinping issued the great initiative of “Toward an Even Stronger China-Africa Community with a Shared Future”, and proposed the “Eight Major Initiatives” to advance practical cooperation between China and Africa, Wang said, these important measures conform to the practical needs of the economic and social development of African countries, and embody China's consistent position of upholding peace, development, cooperation and win-win results. Certainly, they will bring new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between Hubei and Guinea. As we know, Hubei is a major province of industry, agriculture, science, education, and culture. It has an important strategic position in China's development pattern. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Agenda 2063 of the African Union, we will actively follow the initiatives of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the FOCAC, to strengthen the cooperation on water conservancy and electric power, transportation construction, information and communication and other infrastructures, and deepen the exchange on agricultural, science and technology, trade and investment, and the humanities education, etc. We will speed up the comprehensive docking with Guinea, broaden areas of cooperation and improving the quality of cooperation, to embark on a better China-Africa path of win-win cooperation.

　　Alpha Conde expressed gratitude to Hubei for its support and assistance to Guinea in the fields of water conservancy and electricity, agricultural development and education training. He said, Guinea was the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. Over the past half century, the two countries have stood side by side through thick and thin and deepened bilateral relations. Guinea is rich in mineral resources and water resources and has favorable conditions for agricultural development. We hope to take this visit to Hubei as an opportunity to further strengthen practical cooperation with Hubei, give full play to its advantages in the fields of water conservancy, electricity, transportation, information and communication, and strengthen infrastructure connectivity. We hope Hubei can give full play to the technological advantages of agriculture and support Guinea in basic food security. We will strengthen exchanges and cooperation between enterprises and encourage more high-quality enterprises in Hubei to invest in Guinea. We will strengthen urban exchanges, expand cooperation in areas such as education, medical care and culture, and further consolidate and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

　　Prior to the meeting, Alpha Conde visited Yichang Human well Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and Angel Yeast Co., Ltd, and got some knowledge about the overseas investment situation of two enterprises. He highly praised the achievement of two enterprises and sincerely invited Yichang entrepreneurs to invest in Guinea, making China's high quality products, advanced technology and health concept benefit more Guinea people.
