Alpha Condé, the President of the Guinea Republic, led a delegation to start two-day visit to Yichang from September5-6, which was the first African delegation to visit Hubei after the Forumon China-Africa CooperationSummitin Beijingin 2018. During the two days, Condéand his delegation visited Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., LTD, Angel Yeast Group,the Three Gorges Project and Xiling Gorge.

　　Let “invented in China”light up Guinea.

　　Condé and his delegation came to Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., LTD on the afternoon of Sep. 5th.“Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical, which was established in 1954,has a history of more than 60 years.” In the corporate exhibition hall, Li Jie, the chairman of Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical, introduced the golden years of Humanwell Pharmaceutical to Condé.

　　As the largest research and development and production base of narcotic drugs in Asia, Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical currently has a market share of more than 60% in the domestic market, and its products have been sold to 22 countries and regions around the world.

　　A lighted world maplet Condéstop. It turned out that, where the Humanwell Pharmaceutical had invested, a red light was lit up. “We had built factories in Mali and Ethiopia in Africa.” Li Jie introduced.

The aseptic workshop and intelligent production line received the delegation’s praise. “All the production equipment of the company is independently researched and developed by China.And the equipment of the two factories in Africa is also‘invented in China’.”Li Jie said proudly.

　　Coming out from Humanwell Pharmaceutical, they came to the second stop of the inspection, Angel Yeast Group. Liu Yongbo, sales manager of Angel Yeast Group in West Africa and South Africa, introduced Angel Yeast’s technical products and international markets to Condéin fluent French.

　　As the largest in Asia and the world’s third largest yeast company, Angel Yeast’s products are sold to more than 150 countries and regions in the world.

　　“Is your bread made from wheat? Can yeast products be applied to the consumer market in Guinea?” Condé asked carefully when he walked and watched.

　　Xiao Minghua, general manager of Angel Yeast Group, explained that Angel Yeastis using diversified products to meet the needs of different regions. Besides, Africa is one of angel’s most important markets, and its products have been sold well in Guinea.

　　At the end of the visit, Condé was still wondering more about the company, so he asked the staff fora business brochure.

　　Let “Chinese wisdom” drive West Africa water tower.

　　In Guinea, it is called “west African water tower”because of its rich water resources.

　　This time Condé came to Yichang, the capital of the world’s hydro power, to focus on the visit of the Three Gorges Project.In the early morning of Sep.6th, Condé and his delegation went straight to the Three Gorges dam.

　　Walking into the Three Gorges Project Exhibition Hall, the life like miniature model of the Three Gorges Dam suddenly attracted Condé. After listening to the introduction of flood control, power generation, shipping and comprehensive utilization of water resources of the Three Gorges Project, Condé took out a brochure of Guinea Hydro power Station project and discussed it with Wang Lin, general manager of the China Three Gorges Corporation.

　　In August 2015, the Kaleta Hydro power Station, the largest water control project in Guinea, which was built by the China Three Gorges Corporation, started to generate electricity. At present, the China Three Gorges Corporationis working with the Guinean government to develop the Suapidi Hydro power Station in PPP mode.

　　“Thanks to the contribution of the China Three Gorges Corporation to Guinea. And I hope that the China Three Gorges Corporation can help us develop solar energy.” Condé said.

　　From the Three Gorges Project Exhibition Hall to the five-level ship lock, from the Three Gorges ship lift to the Three Gorges Left Bank Power Station, Condé spent half a day to see every hole and corner.

　　On the same day, the Suapidi Owners Training Course and the graduation ceremony of Guinean Hydro power Project Management Seminar jointly organized by China and Guinea were held here.Besides, 59 students also visited and learned at the Three Gorges Hydro power Station. In the meantime, Condé entered the training class and communicated with the students one by one.

　　“I will bring the knowledge of hydro power that Iearned in China back to Guinea to help the motherland develop hydro power and clean energy. Long live China-Guinea cooperation.” Student Tang Bo said.

　　For the China Three Gorges Corporation, Condé wrote a message: “I fell very honored to visit the Three Gorges Dam, a great historical project, which is the crystal of Chinese wisdom. I would also like to show my respect to the leaders of the Three Gorges Corporation.”

　　Let the “China-Guinea friendship” enjoy a long history.

　　Condéand his delegation departed from the Yangjiawan Wharf in the Three Gorges Dam area and returned to Yichang by a ship down the river on the afternoon of September 6. On the way, he accepted an interview.

　　He said that the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations would be celebrated next year for traditional friendship between the two countries. Guinea attached importance to participating in the construction of the “Belt and Road” and looked forward to promoting the interconnection of energy and telecommunication to assist the process of industrialization in Africa, so as to promote the China-Africa comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

　　This kind of political mutual trust stemmed from his deep understanding of China. “Mao Zedong once said that power came from the barrel of the gun. And he also said that the best would become the worst and the worst would become the best.” Condé, who had visited China several times, repeatedly mentioned the famous words of Mao Zedong.

　　In the new era, he also constantly reviewed the pictures of deep exchanges with President Xi Jinping. And he mentioned that President Xi Jinping met with him on Sep. 1st now and then and witnessed the scene when bilateral cooperation documents were signed.

　　Looking back on this trip, the China-Guinea friendship has been deepening unwittingly.

　　On the night of arriving in Yichang, the main leaders of the provincial government met with Condé. After listening to the introduction of Hubei’s economic and social development, he proposed that the two countries build sister cities and expand cooperation in education, agriculture, and culture, so as to further consolidate and deepen mutual friendship.

　　During the visit to Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical,he learned that the China-Africa Development Fund and Wuhan Humanwell Pharmaceutical had jointly established a modern pharmaceutical factory in neighboring Mali, and its medicines had been sold well to Guinea, which had greatly improved the shortage of local medicines. Therefore, he invited entrepreneurs to invest and build factories.

　　At the China Three Gorges Corporation, Condé and relevant Chinese colleagues jointly shoveled the soilat the dam area to plant an Osman thusfragrans, and unveiled the Three Gorges stone, which symbolized the firm friendship between the China Three Gorges Corporation and the Guinean people. He hoped that the friendship between Guinea and China would last forever and the cooperation in hydro power would bear fruit again.
