At the invitation of the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, the expert delegation from German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure visited the Three Gorges and had technical exchanges with the Three Gorges Navigation Authority on matters of ship lift operation and maintenance and green shipping, the reporter learnt on Nov. 18.

　　The Sino-German ship lift technical exchange was carried out under the framework of the 16th round of talks on the "Inland Navigation and Waterway Transportation Cooperation Agreement" issued by the two countries' Ministry of Communications.The German delegation consists of 8 experts from The Federal Republic of Germany Waterways, the Berlin Waterways Construction Agency, the Eberswalde Waterways, and the Hannover Waterways Construction Agency.

　　German experts made an on-the-spot investigation at the Three Gorges ship lift site and discussed the confirmation of ship lift chamber horizontal reference and adjustment of horizontal posture、the detection and lubrication of gear and rack of ship lift chamber drive system as well as other subjects with our side. The delegation also inspected the navigation channel and the ship lock maintenance base between the Three Gorges dam and Gezhouba dam, and observed the construction of the shore power experiment area at the anchorage of the Three Gorges Damarea.(Reporter: Shen Aiming; Correspondent: Liu Min)
