November 20, Zhou Ji, Member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, met with the Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal and the cadre delegation led by Subhas•Chandela•Nemwang, former Speaker of the Constitutional Assembly, to exchange views on promoting further exchanges and cooperation.

　　Entrusted by Jiang Chaoliang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Wang Xiaodong, governor of Hubei Province, Zhou Wei, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and government, the Municipal Party Committee and governmentas well asthe people of the city, welcomed the delegation to Yichang. He said that President Xi Jinping clearly pointed out during his meeting with the Prime Minister of Nepalin June this year that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Nepal in infrastructure interconnection, post-disaster reconstruction, economic and trade cooperation under the framework of “The Belt and Road”, so as to build a comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation pattern. As a major science and education, economic, agricultural and ecological province, Hubei is known as “the thoroughfare of nine provinces, land of a thousand lakes, and land of milk and honey”. As the pivotcity of the Yangtze River Economic Zone, Yichang is the seat of the China Three Gorges Group, the world’s largest hydro power development enterprise. For a long time, Hubei, Yichang and Nepal have continuously strengthened exchanges and cooperation, which has achieved fruitful results. In accordance with the relevant decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, we will take this visit as a new opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with relevant parties in the fields of humanities, education, health, environmental protection, economy and trade.

　　Nemwang said that, with a long history of friendship, Nepal-China relations are a model of relations between countries of different systems and sizes. In recent years, the friendship between the two countries has been further consolidated by the frequent visits between them. Before this visit, we heard that Yichang is a green and beautiful city. During this visit, I really experience the beauty and charm of Yichang. Especially in the Three Gorges University, it is a great pleasure to see teachers, students and visiting scholars from Nepal studying and exchanging here.We will earnestly study the experiences of the Communist Party of China in governing the country, deeply integrate into China’s The Belt and Road Initiative, and actively learn from the practice of hydropower development in Hubei and Yichang, so as to strive for the realization of “Prosperous Nepal and happy Nepalese”.
