Nepalese Cadre Delegation in Yichang: A Beautiful Chinese Window
2018-12-03 10:20:19

From Nov. 19th to 21st, the Nepalese cadre delegation came to Yichang for an investigation. They visited China Three Gorges University (CTGU), Gezhouba Dam Group and Three Gorges Project successively and learned about the construction of water conservancy facilities, targeted poverty alleviation and the construction of new socialist countryside.

The first station was CTGU. The members of the delegation recorded the beautiful roads, the standard stadium and the buildings with their mobile phones. And they also praised that CTGU was the international university in Yichang after they learned that there were 1,300 foreign students in CTGU.

At Gezhouba Dam Group, a project map told us the history between Nepal and Gezhouba Dam Group. Gezhouba Dam Group has initiated 3 hydropower projects since Gezhouba Dam Group entered Nepal’s market in 1996. Now, it is investing in the development of three cascade hydropower stations in the Berry River Basin in Nepal. When they stood on the top of the Three Gorges Dam and looked at the running river and the majestic dam, the delegation was amazed: "It’s too shocking! The wisdom of the Chinese people is brilliant!"

"I sincerely hope that Nepal can learn from China's hydropower development experience to promote economic prosperity.", said by Subas Chandra Nemwan, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal and former Chairman of the Constitutional Convention.

In the e-commerce site of Xujiachong Village, Taipingxi Town, Yiling District, all kinds of pendants, ornaments and local specialties made of wormwood attracted their attentions. Dina Nash Sharma, a member of the delegation bought a bag of green tea for her family and friends.

When visiting the Guanzi Village Citrus Exhibition Hall, they kept on singing high praise for various products, such as orange vinegar and canned oranges. “"What is the annual yield of oranges? How to carry out deep processing?” “How to sell the products? What preferential policies does the government have?” “What is a cooperative?” “Do these buildings belong to villagers?” They wanted to learn more from this beautiful village.

“Yichang not only has a beautiful urban environment, but also a very prosperous economic development and social development. I hope that Nepal and Yichang will further expand and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields in the future!” Subas Chandra Nemwan said with a hearty laughter. (Reporter: Zhang Silu)
