“We are very amazed that the Yichang Marathon attracts so many people to take part in it.” said an athlete from Tezebic City, Czech, “With its pleasant scenery and fresh air, Yichang is very suitable to hold such international marathon and we really enjoyed the event.”
Sports is a common cultural symbol and more of a bridge linking sister cities. This is the second time that Tezebic has sent a delegation to participate in the event. Denisa Haakovais, head of the delegation and director of the Development and Planning Bureau of Tezebic City, also participated in the marathon mini-race. As a sister city, Tezebic plans to send a delegation to participate in the competition every year, aiming to promote civil interaction and sports culture exchanges between the two cities, and to explore the potential for bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, education and urban planning as well as environmental protection.
During their stay, the delegation visited the Yichang City Planning Exhibition Hall, enterprises in the High-tech Zone, Three Gorges Dam Area, the Chinese Sturgeon Research Institute, Yiling Tianwen International School, Wufeng County and Changyang County. And they were accompanied in some activities by Ding Xuhuan, director of Foreign Affairs office, and Pi Zuwu, director general of the Sports Bureau of the city.
When calling on the Jinbao Musical Instruments, the guests visited its piano production workshop, learned about its digital automatic piano-playing system (Pianoforce), and had an in-depth conversation with Mr Barnabas, the R&D manager of the system. Denisa said that she was impressed by the process excellence of its production line, its rigorous operation and the skillful operation of its employees.
At the Tianwen International School, the delegation toured the school's panoramic miniature model, Qu Yuan Cultural Center and the exhibition of students' works under the guidance of student representatives. They were received by Wang Qingling, the president of the school, who said that the school has a close friendship with Tezebic, because in April 2016, the teachers and students group of Tezebic held a week-long fruitful exchange with their counterparts of Tianwen and in November 2017, Visokina, Vice Governor of Visokina, together with his delegation visited Tianwen, and that she was very glad to see the old friends again. Denisa also said she was very glad too to have come here to pay a visit and hoped that the two sides will work together to make a plan for the next exchange between teachers and students as soon as possible.
On November 5, the delegation visited the Wufeng Tea Museum on the spot to learn about the different elements of tea culture like tea source, varieties, tea set, tea poem, tea art and ceremony. And they were told by Tang Shoujiang, deputy head of Wufeng County, that Wufeng is an important tea source and a core production area of Yichang black tea in the “Wanli Tea Road” tea series and the county is working with Wuhan and other cities to push forward the application of “Wanli Tea Road” to be listed in the world cultural heritage. Denisa said that the Jewish settlements in Tezebic City and St. Procopius's Cathedral were listed as world cultural heritages by UNESCO in 2003, and they have rich experiences in applying for heritages, hoping to promote cultural and tourism cooperation between the two sides through exchanges.
This visit gives the delegation of Tezebic a further understanding of Yichang's economic and social development, and has promoted the all-round, multi-angle and wide-ranging practical governmental and civil cooperation between the two cities. The two sister cities will continue to develop hand in hand, strive for mutual benefits and win-win results, and jointly write a new chapter of friendly exchanges between the two sides.
