2023-06-27 08:29:00

On June 19, the opening ceremony of the 17th International Tchaikovsky Music Competition was held at the music hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory at 7:00 p.m. local time, and the Yangtze River Piano made in Yichang was selected as the competition instrument for the second time.

During the opening concert of the competition, the world-famous pianist, also a judge of the piano group of the 17th International Tchaikovsky Music Competition, Liu Shikun played two Chinese works--the second movement of The Yellow River Piano Concerto and My Motherland, and presented the Chinese piano culture with the enchanting melody to the world on the stage of the Tchaikovsky Competition.

It is the second time for the Yangtze River Piano to be used by the piano group of the Tchaikovsky Competition. A person in charge of the Parsons Music Group, the owner of the brand of the Yangtze River Piano, believed that the adoption of the brand in the two consecutive competitions manifests the global recognition of Chinese pianos and reveals the achievements Yichang has made in building a City of Piano in China, as demonstrates the cultural confidence of China.

The International Tchaikovsky Music Competition as a world renowned classical music event has been set up for the commemoration of Russian composer Tchaikovsky and held every four years since its debut in 1958 as an important platform for young musical talents. The Yangtze River piano was first designated for the competition in 2019, which marked the first adoption of Chinese pianos in the 61-year history of the competition and opened up a new chapter for the development of piano manufacturing in China.
