The 2023 “Roots-Seeking Tour in China” Summer Camp (Yichang·Hubei), hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and organized by the Hubei Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Yichang Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese for overseas Chinese teenagers, kicked off on July 26. Twenty overseas Chinese teenagers and teachers from Germany and Italy will start an 8-day “roots-seeking tour” in Yichang.

　　This summer camp, taking into account the reality of Yichang, has arranged classroom teaching, visits, interactive exchanges and other special activities for overseas Chinese youth to experience Yichang’s rich and colorful traditional culture, thriving industrial development and open and inclusive style in an all-round way. The event will broaden the horizons of the campers, enhance their friendship and encourage them to be enthusiastic disseminators of the Chinese culture, active promoters of cultural exchanges as well as friendly envoys between China and foreign countries.

　　Zhao Pengyue, representative of the campers, said in his speech that aspires to learn together with teenagers in Yichang and feel the profoundness and extraordinary charm of the Chinese culture.

　　During the event, campers will learn paper cutting, tea making, calligraphy, folk dancing and other courses, and visit the China International Cultural Exchange Bases for Returned Overseas Chinese－Zhaojun Village, Quyuan Temple, and the Three Gorges Dam, the Yangtze River Great Protection Education Base, the Yichang Museum, the Yangtze River Piano Production Base, the Ancient Tea Road in Wufeng, Yuquan Temple, the Riddle Village of Qinglin Temple and other places, to feel Yichang’s picturesque scenery and charming culture.
