Ma Zejiang meets delegation from Gyeongju, South Korea

  On September 19th, Ma Zejiang, deputy secretary of the CPC Yichang Municipal Committee and mayor of Yichang, met with the delegation from the government of South Korea's Gyeongju City, including Mayor Joo, Nak-young and the parliament speaker. They jointly attended the signing ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Yichang and Gyeongju.

  On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, also the Yichang people, Ma Zejiang warmly welcomed the delegation from Gyeongju City and offered sincere congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the sister city relationship. He addressed that since the beginning of the sister relationship between the two cities in 2013, Yichang and Gyeongju have maintained a close and profound exchange of visits, communication, and collaboration, resulting in significant cooperative achievements. He expressed the hope that both cities would continue to nurture their friendship, work together in practical cooperation in areas such as cultural exchange, economic and trade investment, and cultural tourism, and jointly advance their mutually beneficial and friendly relationship into the next “golden decade.” Ma Zejiang also expressed his wish that the delegation's visit would provide them with a better understanding of Wuhan's industrial characteristics and urban charm, facilitating new project collaborations that would bring tangible benefits to the people of both cities.

  Joo, Nak-young spoke highly of Yichang for its comprehensive strength, ecological environment, rich historical and cultural heritage, and advanced urban development. They introduced the current situation in Gyeongju City and expressed their desire to promote practical cooperation at various government and non-governmental levels in the fields of culture, tourism, economics, agriculture, especially in new energy industries and tea cultivation based on the commonalities between the two cities, aiming to benefit the residents of both cities.

  During their visit to Yichang, the Gyeongju City government delegation was also arranged to watch an exhibition featuring the 10th anniversary of the sister city relationship between the two cities, visit Yichang Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Chuneng (Yichang) New Energy Lithium Battery Industry Park, the Three Gorges Project, and the Angel Yeast Group.
