The Germany-Yichang Cooperation Sessions of the 23rd Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing (referred to as “HCH”) were held in Yichang on Nov. 17 in the theme of “Green and Mutual Development for a Better Future”, and nearly 300 participants from home and abroad gathered at the conference for communication and cooperation with the aim of building Yichang into a model city of the Yangtze River protection and a world-class city.

　　Five sessions were held, at which 11 projects were signed between Yichang and the Federation of Hubei Societies in Germany, covering economic and trade cooperation, talents exchange, technological cooperation of key enterprises with overseas institutions, industrial collaboration and introduction of high-level overseas talents with a planned investment of 15.22 billion yuan.

　　At the session of industrial collaboration, the subordinate counties and districts as well as the High-Tech Zone made introductions to their respective project-bearing advantages and demands of industrial development, centering on the leading industries of new chemical materials, life and health, new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing, big data and computing economy and culture and tourism. The High-Tech Zone recommended the “Dream Incubator of Overseas Chinese” of Hubei Province as its key item with the attempt of attracting partners of cooperation from among the industrial parks and overseas Chinese entrepreneurs as well as the representatives of foreign-invested enterprises and industrial parks. This session also played a role of investment introduction through the platform of the 23rd Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing held in Yichang, with its aim focusing on the building of platforms for project-based cooperation and generation of more driving force for building Yichang into a world-class city.

　　The talents exchange session held on the same day closely followed the layout of the leading industries of Yichang City, providing communication platforms for the representatives from various projects and the overseas Chinese talents of relating fields to further promote the innovation and entrepreneurship of high-level overseas talents in Yichang and attract more talents to Yichang. At this session, the Yichang Municipal Talents Office introduced the latest policies of talent introduction in details and a number of well-known enterprises and institutions also released their talents recruitment notices, such as Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Angel Yeast, Hubei Three Gorges Laboratory, Eastern Valley U and so on. At the session, a signing ceremony was also held for the establishment of the Three Gorges Talents No.1 Fund, which will better serve the introduction of high-level talents and the implementation of scientific and innovative projects and give impetus to transformation and upgrading of Yichang industries.
