First group of 100 charter flights from Thailand lands in Yichang
2024-01-04 08:45:00

On December 31, 2023, the first group of 128 members of “10,000 People Touring Yichang with 100 Charter Flights from Thailand in 2024” landed at Yichang Sanxia Airport.

The inaugural journey, spanning 4 days, will see the tourists cruise the Yangtze River aboard transportation boats, savor Yichang’s famous fat fish, visit scenic spots such as the Three Gorges Water Project and Gezhouba Dam, the Xiling Gorge and the Qu Yuan’s Hometown, experiencing the charm of Yichang.

This group marks the first inbound charter flight after the opening of cross-border tourism in Hubei Province. In 2023, by leveraging resources from airlines and Thai travel agencies, Yichang successfully signed contracts for 100 charter flights from Thailand to Yichang. Starting with this group, it is anticipated that Yichang will receive 15,000 inbound tourists. Since the opening of inbound tourism in 2023, Yichang’s inbound tourism market has gradually recovered, receiving visitors from North America, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions through cruise ships and chartered trains and flights. The arrival of the first group of 100 charter flights from Thailand in 2024 signifies the comprehensive commencement of inbound tourism in Yichang for the year.
