On the evening of January 3, the 2024 Yangtze River New Year’s Concert was held at Yichang Theater. The National Dance Company of Siberia, also known as Mikhail Godenko Krasnoyarsk State Academic Dance Ensemble of Siberia, a top Russian dance troupe, graced the stage with a spectacular performance, Joyful Siberia, and delivered a world-class cultural feast to Yichang people.
At the performance, the Godenko presented 13 dance performances, including the round dance “My Siberia”, the Cossack dance “The Steep Banks of the Krasnoyars”, the suite dance “Joyful Siberians”, the round dance “Romantic Siberia”, and the mini-dance “Lilacs and Birdseed Plums”. The dance moves and culturally enriched music gained applause from the audience. During the intermission, the dancers interacted with the audience, teaching Russian dance and sending Tun Boo toys to them. Ten randomly selected lucky viewers received the “Gifts from the Yangtze River.”
It is learnt that Godenko, one of the three top Russian folk dance troupes known as the gem of Russian national art and enjoying the honor of “No.1 National Dance Art Troupe” in Russia. Since its foundation in 1960, it has visited over 100 countries and given more than 8,000 performances, gaining the worldwide fame. The first show of Godenko marked the beginning of the 2024 Yangtze River New Year’s Concert in Yichang, and the concert was expected to offer a high-class dreamily visual fantasy to the public and boost the exchange and integrated development of Chinese and Russian cultures in an artistic way, witnessing the blooming China-Russia friendship in Yichang.
