On February 11th, in the production workshop of Yichang Jinhao Agricultural Trading Co., Ltd. in Yiling District, more than 40 workers were conducting labeling, packaging, and boxing operations in an orderly and intense manner. The carefully processed citrus was loaded into containers and was about to be exported to Russia.
“The company expanded its market to Russia this year on the basis of self-operated exports to Southeast Asia last year,” introduced Luo Yubao, the company’s head. The company exports about 60 tons of citrus to Russia every day, with an export unit price as high as 7,000 yuan per ton. Currently, 18 citrus enterprises in the district have resumed production at full capacity.
In recent years, Yiling District has seized the development opportunities of the citrus industry and injected strong impetus into the high-quality development of the citrus industry chain through multiple channels. In 2024, the total output of citrus in the whole district reached 860,700 tons, with a cumulative export of 136,000 tons and a sales volume of 886 million yuan. From January to mid-February 2025, 24,000 tons were exported, with a sales volume of 158 million yuan. (Reporter/Song Xiaoxiao, Correspondents/Yue Li and Yan Xianshuo)
