Yichang Sanxia International Airport will launch a Jinan-Yichang-Xishuangbanna route from July 1, expanding travel options for the summer season, according to airport authorities on June 20. Introductory tickets are priced from 610 yuan (a 62% discount) for flights between Yichang and Xishuangbanna, and 470 yuan (a 58% discount) for the Yichang-Jinan section.

　　Operated by GX Airlines using Airbus A320 aircraft, the route operates three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays). Travelers can witness the Three Gorges’ grandeur in Yichang in the morning and immerse themselves in Xishuangbanna’s tropical rainforests alongside Dai ethnic culture by the afternoon.
