Yichang Customs reported on June 23 that the total import and export volume of Yichangreached 21.12 billion yuan in the first five months of 2025, representing a 13.2%year-on-year increase. Exports accounted for 16.54 billion yuan, growing by 13.9%, while imports rose 10.7% to 4.58 billion yuan.
During this period, Yichang conducted foreign trade primarily through general trade (19.22 billion yuan), processing trade (720 million yuan), and bonded logistics (1.13 billion yuan). Themajor trading partners included ASEAN countries (5.6 billion yuan), the European Union (2.13 billion yuan) and Brazil (1.7 billion yuan). The trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries totaled 13.46 billion yuan, while the exchangeswith other RCEP members reached 7.93 billion yuan.
Electromechanical products, labor-intensive goods and agricultural products dominated theexportswhile agricultural products, basic organic chemicals and electromechanical goods werethe main commodities.
