2025-08-04 09:26:00

The “2025 Hubei Embrace China” Summer Camp, themed “Root-seeking Journey,” recently concluded in Yichang. A group of 27 overseas Chinese youths from Germany visited Yichang, immersing themselves in its rich traditional culture and vibrant urban development.

Campers toured key sites including the Three Gorges Dam, Chexi Folk-Custom Tourism Area, Ermalu Historical and Cultural District and Zhaojun Village—one of China’s International Culture Communication Bases for Overseas Chinese. Through these visits, they experienced the grandeur of the national engineering marvels and the unique charm of Yichang’s historical and cultural heritage, deepening their connection to Chinese roots.

“This summer camp let us witness both the technological advancements and traditional culture of our ancestral homeland. We’re truly excited and grateful,” said camper Zhang Xiuqi. Wang Jing, the accompanying teacher and director of Chinesische Schule Bonn e.V. in Germany, noted, “The camp not only showcased beautiful landscapes but also the profound depth of Chinese culture. This journey will remain a cherished memory for the children, reminding them of their roots wherever life may take them.” (Reporter/Sun Xiaoling, Correspondent/Fu Linlin)
