30 overseas Chinese teenagers visit Yichang for roots trip

  From August 18 to 20, the 2025“Roots-Seeking Tour in China”Summer Camp for overseasteenagersof Chinese originmade its way to Yichang to appreciate its natural scenery and historical culture. The summer camp consists of thirty teenagers from Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand and the United States and three accompanyingteachers.

  At the Chexi Folk Custom Scenic Spot, the campers visited Tujia stilted buildings and traditional workshops, and watched Tujia folk dances and cultural performances. Duanrui from New Zealand said excitedly, “The folk performances impressed me deeply. They were so real and appealing that they sparked my strong interest in traditional Chinese culture.”Moreover, the campers also visited the Xiling Gorge, the Three Gorges Dam as well as the Qu Yuan Temple and the Navel Orange Museum in Zigui County.
