On September 22, the main hoist of the ship lift produced for the Guangxi Baise Water Control Project, the world’s largest winding-type vertical ship lift, was delivered in Yichang. This marks the dominantentry of “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” into the global winding-type vertical ship lift sector.

　　Manufactured by China Energy Engineering Group Machinery & Ship Co Ltd, the ship lift has a maximum lifting capacity of 10,700 metric tons and a maximum lifting height of 88.8 meters. It is currently the largest ship lift under construction worldwide and, upon completion, will rank as the world’s second-largest ship lift after the Three Gorges ship lift, as well as the largest winding-type vertical ship lift in the world.
