The total foreign trade of Yichang reached 43.39 billion yuan in the first ten months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%. This figure comprised exports of 35.16 billion yuan (up 26.2% year-on-year) and imports of 8.23 billion yuan (down 0.2% year-on-year), according to the data released by Yichang Customs on November 20.
General trade accounted for the largest share at 39.31 billion yuan, up 30.7% year-on-year. This was followed by processing trade (1.49 billion yuan) and bonded logistics (2.51 billion yuan).
Private enterprises were the main driver, accounting for 33.82 billion yuan of the trade volume, a 28.6% year-on-year increase. State-owned enterprises followed with 4.76 billion yuan, while foreign-invested enterprises saw the fastest growth, surging 33.6% to 4.8 billion yuan.
ASEAN remained Yichang’s largest trading partner (10.7 billion yuan), followed by Brazil (5.21 billion yuan) and the EU (3.88 billion yuan). Trade with B&R countries grew by 31.7% to 28.82 billion yuan, while exchanges with RCEP member states increased by 26.1% to 15.55 billion yuan.
