Yichang launches new international cargo transit route via Hong Kong
2025-11-21 14:14:00

On November 18, a batch of mechanical equipment was shipped from Yichang Sanxia International Airport to Hong Kong for onward transfer to Southeast Asia, marking the start of regular operations for Yichang’s international air logistics channel to Hong Kong.

Since the service was launched in March this year, Sanxia Airport has opened multiple international routes via Hong Kong and expanded its transfer cooperation with the Pudong Airport in Shanghai, ensuring full access to a global air cargo network. In addition, the airport has introduced belly-hold cargo services on direct flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong and other destinations.

These new routes have shortened cargo transport time by an average of two to three days, effectively reducing costs for businesses. To date, 43 shipments of high-value-added products have been exported through the airport, with a total value exceeding $2 million. (Hubei Daily: Reporter/Li Renxi, Correspondent/Dai Chunkai)
