Recently, six new corn varieties developed by Hubei Kangnong Seed Co Ltd have obtained national approval, according tothe Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. By 2025, a total of nine corn varieties cultivated by the company havebeen nationally approved, with one selected for China’s National Crop Variety Promotion Catalogue.

　　The Changyang-based company is mainly engaged in the research and production of seedsforcorn, konjac, and traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. It is a national high-tech enterprise and a key player in the crop seed industry sector. The company has cultivated over 100 new corn varieties and holds multiple national invention patents, ranking firstin market share in the mountainous areas of southwestern China, includingYunnan and Guizhou. Since 2020, its products have helped farmers cumulatively increase their income by about 4 billion yuan.
