From 11th to 12th, April, the delegation led by the Deputy Director of Channel Department, the Ministry of Communications from Germany, paid a visit to inspect the Ship Locks and Ship Lift of the Three Gorges Project, then they exchanged views on issues of the operation management of the navigation structures. Germany has a rich experience in ship lift design, manufacture, construction as well as the aspect of operation management. The main equipment of the Ship Lift of the Three Gorges Project was designed by German JV Company. The Delegation of the Ministry of Communications from Germany discussed some issues with the departments concerned and finally reached agreement on the training schedule, training contents and training expenses of ship lift operation management, and working scheme as well.
