1st-seasonal City GDP Increase Rate: Yichang Tops Central-China List

The Chinese version of Forbes magazine has recently listed the GDP increase rates of the first season in 2012 of 93 cities in China. According to the statistic data, the GDP has increased by more than 10% in 51 of the cities, by 7.5% to 10% in 24 and by less than 7.5% in the rest 18; and the cities in the west and central areas own the largest increase rates.

Among the cities, Yichang has the highest increase rate in the area of central China and takes the seventh position in the list of the 93 cities, as the only city in the area of central China among the top ten with the highest 1st-seasonal GDP increase rates. Jilin, Guiyang and Tianjin as the top three own their increase rates of 16.3%, 16.2% and 14.7% respectively while the four of the first-class cities including Beijing (7%), Shanghai(7%), Guangzhou(7.3%) and Shenzhen (5.8%) failed to keep their GDP increase rates above 8%. Dongguan in Guangdong Province bottoms the list with its increase rate of 1.3%.
