At eight pm, June 25th, Wuhan Railway Bureau officially announced that the Wu han-Yichang High Speed Train will start operation on July 1st ,2012.

It also released the price list of tickets as well as the time schedule. From then on, 31 pairs of trains will run on this line including 26 pairs of high speed trains and 5 pairs of non-high speed trains. It is reported that the high speed trains have already run 1744 times with no passengers which equals to more than 500 thousand kms, in order to ensure the safety and speed of the Wuhan-Yichang high speed trains. Among all the Wuhan-Yichang high speed trains, the fastest one only runs for 99 minutes , which arrives 3 and half hours earlier than the trains on ChangJiangbu-Jingmen railway. All the trains have 8 carriages with the capacity of 600 passengers. Its management is similar to the bus management in the city. In general, trains run every five minutes during rush hours.

Time Schedule of Wuhan-Yichang High Speed Trains

High speed trains will run from Wuchang Railway Station, Hankou Railway Station and Wuhan Railway Station to Yichang East Railway Station everyday. The earliest one is D5811, which starts from Hankou at 6:15 am and arrives at Yichang East Railway Station at 8:28 am. The latest one is D5872/3, which starts from Hankou Railway Station at 20:20 pm and arrives at 22:29 pm.

High speed trains also run from Yichang to the three stations everyday. The earliest one is D5854, which starts at 7:30 pm and arrives at Wuhan Railway Station at 10:14. The latest one is D5832, which starts at 21:45pm and arrives at Hankou Railway Station at 23:45 pm.

Yichang East Railway Station to Hankou, Wuhan and Wuchang Railway Station: prices of first class seats are 103,114and107rmb; prices of second class seats are 85,95 and 89rmb.

Yichang East Railway Station to Zhijiang North Railway station, Jingzhou, Qianjiang, Xiantao West Railway Staion, Tianmen South Railway Station and Hanchuan Railway Station: prices of first class seats are 15, 31,56,63,74,86rmb;prices of second class seats are 13,26,47,52,62,72rmb.

Hankou Railway Station to Hanchuan, Tianmen South Train Station，Xiantao West Train Station, Qianjiang,Jingzhou and Zhijiang North Train Station: prices of first class seats are 16,29,40,47,72,87rmb; prices of second class seats are 13,25,33,40,60,73rmb.
