On August 27, a seminar about Tujia Folk Garden Project was held by Yichang Society for the study of Folk Literature and Art, endeavoring to make Changyang County the Folk Culture Industry Base of Yichang.

　　Experts on folk culture and tourism studies from China Three Gorges University, Hubei Three Gorges Vocational College and the Municipal Literal Federation attended the seminar. The seminar covered the topics including the necessity of establishment of a folk culture museum or center, the study on the originality, organization, planning and distributions of the traditional craftsman professions or associations, tourist development of folk culture including foods, hospitality industry, traditional medicine and folk architecture as well as its relation with tourism development.

　　The Project of Changyang Tujia Folk Culture Garden with a total investment of 1.5 billion RMB includes four major parts, such as residential buildings of Tujia style, a folk museum, traditional Tujia medicine research institute and the exhibition of traditional craftsman professions, supported by high-quality business hotels. The project will be completed in four stages and will be put into use in 2018 and it will attract more attention of the tourists to the traditional Tujia ethnic culture.
