Two Earthquakes Happen in Zigui: No Casualties and Property Loss

Two earthquakes, with magnitudes of 3.2 and 2.6, struck Qu Yuan Town, Zigui County in quick succession in early hours on October 31st, causing no casualties and property losses, according to Hubei seismic prevention and disaster reduction information.

At 3:42 and 5:53 in Qu Yuan Town, it was said that these two earthquakes, with magnitudes of 3.2 and 2.6, affected the areas along the Yangzi River in Zigui region.

Shortly after the earthquakes, officials and relevant experts sent by local County Party Committee and government rush to the quake-stricken areas, checked the damage from earthquakes, and informed the public regularly of the latest developments of the temblor through the television, Internet, media and text messages, to soothe the masses and reestablish the social order.  Apart from that, the request from Yichang Seismological Bureau has been submitted that more experts should be sent to identify the quake conditions with local experts. Besides, work shifts have been strengthened, to ensure that resolutions and decisions can be carried out effectively. Up to now, the quake-inflicted region has regained its social stability.
