The 2nd Yangtze River Piano Music Festival Opens

The 2nd Yichang Yangtze River Piano Music Festival kicks off with the grand dinner on November 9, to celebrate the opening ceremony of the 6th “Yangtze Piano Cup” competition for basic skills among music teachers in both primary and middle schools across the country. On November 8, it has learned from one of the organizers——the Perth Music Group that the music festival will last until November 21 and more than 20 colorful theme events will be held during these days.

Collision of ideas among well-known musicians: on November 19, the Presidents’ Forum of National Nine Key Conservatories of Music will be held, during which some of the powerful guests such as, Wu Zuqiang, Zhao Jipin, Xu Peidong will gather together in Yichang, for the issue concerning the future of music education.

An arena for the rising talents: from November 9th to 14th, these music teachers, from primary and middle schools all over the country, will embark on in the finals of the 6th “Yangtze Piano Cup” competition for basic skills. From November 16th to 21st, the semi-finals and finals of the third “Yangtze Cup” national children piano performance, of the second “Yangtze Piano Cup” national piano performance sponsored by College Music Union affiliated to China Musician Association are due to start respectively.

A seminar for professionals and professors to pass on their valuable experience: on November 11th and 14th, Ma Qiuhua, the eminent educator of vocal music in China, Yang Hongnian, the renowned conductor, will share their experiences with others about music respectively. On 17th, a presentation given by the jazz pianist Jin Fo and his pupil A Bu will impart the playing skills of piano in jazz to music lovers. On 19th, Xu Peidong, the famous composer, will share his former creative process with the attendants. On 20th, Shi Shucheng, the distinguished piano player, will deliver a lecture about the Analysis of the Current Situation of China’s Piano Education.

An audio-visual feast for the audience: On November 13th, Alexander Ullmann, the champion of Franz Liszt International Piano Competition will present a piano concert for audiences; on November16th, a double piano concert, put on by Xu Ning and Guo Pinwen from Hong Kong will stage an excellent piano duet. On November 18th, several previous winners of “Golden Bell Star” will open the “Golden Bell Star” kick-off concert together with symphony orchestra of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. From November 19th to 20th, the child prodigies of piano performer, Wang Yalun, Pan Linzhi and Gu Jingdan, instructed by the so-called “piano coach for future champions” Dan Zhaoyi, will hold a breathtaking concert on live stage.

At intervals between performances, a series of recreation activities will be arranged by Perth Music Group , which include inviting these elites of music to make on-the-spot inspection of the Yangtze piano production base, and go sightseeing tourist spots such as the landscape of Three Gorges Dam.
