It was learnt from Yichang Municipal Finance Bureau yesterday that this year 7 million RMB special funds would be put into urban preschool education. As for public kindergartens, no matter new, reconstructed or expanded, each class will be subsidized 10,000 RMB construction fund.

　　It has been informed that the city government has planned to set up nursery schools with an area of about 7,400 square meters in some urban residential communities, such as Chengdong Avenue, Chengxiang Road in Wujiagang District and Jiangnan Avenue in Dianjun District. By November 15, among the 9 kindergartens to be built or reconstructed within 2011 to 2012 academic year, 4 have been completed, namely Wujiagang Center Kindergarten, Wujiagang Damuzhiyucai Kindergarten, Dianjun District Aijia Kindergarten, Dianjun District Wulong Kindergarten.

　　As for teachers, some universities in Yichang including Hubei Three Gorges Polytechnic and Three Gorges Tourism Vocational & Technical College are to set up the Preschool Education major and will enroll about 400 students this year. By the end of 12th Five Year Plan period, as the government program suggests, it aims to make sure that all urban local kindergartens meet the standards, half of urban kindergartens be city level and provincial level model kindergartens, and 95% of kindergartens reach a level.
